On a ridge above the Kentucky River…

 

On a ridge above the Kentucky River in Peaks Mill, Kentucky there is an eden. Up a steep drive through the forest, a clearing of rolling golden land appears. Nestled in between two giant ravines resides a garden with a view that stretches far and wide to farms in the distance.The aroma of bourbon mash is heavy in the air as bees and butterflies feed on the pollen of orange, white, and pink cosmos. Redwinged Black Birds chirp excitedly, jumping from sunflower to sunflower quickly picking apart the heads as they feast. Crowds of zinnia and sweet annie gently dance in the breeze. A great heron gracefully glides across the sky above on his trip home to the rookery. He will be back again tomorrow and every day after…
